On Memorial Day, people frequently will say "Thank You" to those who gave their lives for our freedom, and certainly I give my thanks to those who perished in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, World Wars 1 & 2, and so on ...For those who have died in this Iraqi war, thank you doesn't seem to quite fit. Instead, all I can say is "I'm sorry."
I'm sorry it came to this. I'm sorry that the president didn't value your life enough to keep you alive. I'm sorry you aren't still here to help keep us safe from our nation's true enemies. I'm sorry that those in charge treasured their pride, money, greed, and political ambitions too much that you're considered expendable. I'm sorry that lies and deceit was all it took to have you killed. I'm sorry I didn't fight hard enough or effectively enough to keep you home.
To the 4300 (and unfortunately still growing) service men and women who have died for a reason other than our freedom -- we miss you, we love you, may you rest in peace.

MCH...
I really like your posts...and your devotion to our patriots. I'm Jim Hillis from Lydia's site.
I always enjoy your posts on her site...and you've stuck up for me a couple of times against some weirdos. Hey, How can I follow your site? I just started my own webstie the other day and I'm really excited to join you guys. The more people like us...putting the truth in people's faces and exposing the covered up, hidden, unspoken crimes of the "old admin" the more eyes we will open. Want to check out my blog?
My Website "The Right Thing And God And Jim Hillis' Quest For The Full Circle JamesHillisFord.com

I do not know you and I am sure you do not know me. My comment to your feelings and words is you cannot have it both ways. I am positive there were Americans at the time of the wars you mentioned; other than Iraq war, who mirror your views on freedom. Before you speak next time, consider what you have contributed to America's freedoms. If you have made that contribution please except my thanks for your service to our country. If you have not then maybe, you can find the time to devote a part of your life living free to protect all of us in America from some misguided radical who wants to slit your throat. This sounds so evil I do not even like to write the words. My intent is not to do any harm to you only to make an attempt to give you an opportunity to open your heart and mind as to not condemn those of us who have served in the Armed Forces to protect your freedoms to speak and write dividing words about our past president. I cannot speak for him; however, I can speak up for myself, please do not feel sorry for me. I protected your backside for 32 years against true enemies who want to terrorize our country. Those brave men and women stood up for you, but I am not sure you can understand that.
Tom
Tom, in no way, shape or form am I condemning those who serve in the armed forces. I am comdemning the man who sent over 4000 of them to their deaths ... not to protect our liberty, not to protect our freedom, not to fight our enemies but to insure profits for Halliburton, to get a misguided revenge for a failed assassination plot against his father, and to try to insure his legacy as a war hero president.
The Iraq War had nothing to do with our freedom. It had to do with money.
As for what I have contributed -- no I did not serve in the armed forces. Unlike the war hawks who could have served but chose not to because a: they didnt bother to show up (GWBush), B: had a boil on their butt (Limbaugh) or c: had other priorities at the time (Cheney), I have a neuromuscular condition that keeps me from running, jumping, throwing, and other activities frequently found useful in the military.
I have contributed to our freedom by paying my taxes without trying to hide my assets and speaking out against would-be tyrants such as DubbleDum Bush and Herr Cheney. I volunteered for the Obama campaign and helped to get him elected. And now I choose to support our freedom by speaking the truth about the hypocrites and hate mongers who want nothing more than for this country to die so that they can make a profit ... scum like Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Coulter, Malkin and the entire Redumblican party.
