I first became familiar with -- and developed a major crush on -- Lydia through her portrayal of Sara Rush on the 80's sitcom Too Close for Comfort, the younger daughter of Ted Knight's character Henry Rush. More recently, however, she has become known as a progressive political activist and radio co-host of the Basham and Cornell Show (http://www.bashamandcornell.com/). She is currently working on several projects including books on politics and religion.
Lydia is a shining example of what a progressive (or liberal, if you prefer), a Christian, and an American should be. She is funny, intelligent, warm, and above all else loving. Over the past two years of getting to know her through her blog and through personal email, I have grown to love and respect her -- she is one of the few people who is as genuinely beautiful on the inside as she has always been on the outside.
Her website and blog can be found at http://www.lydiacornell.com/.

Good luck on the blog, MCH. I trust that centrists are going to be welcome, too, right? LOL P.S. Remember, youtube, Cyd Charisse, Band Wagon. It's highly unlikely that you'll regret it, bro.
Centrists are more than welcome, Will, and I will hold to no-flaming-other bloggers rule. All opinions will be welcomed and respected; we can argue and debate but we will be civilized.
Furthermore, I even believe you're a centrist. (shockiing opinion I know)
Im holding the posting open to anonymous to allow for postings from my other circle of online acquiaintances but if it's abused by people wanting to throw insults around, I'll make the necessary changes.
Oh, and Cyd Charisse ... Dude! That girl had some of the finest legs in Hollywood!
Yes, the legs are awesome. They almost make you forget about the killer backside. ALMOST! As for me, bro, I am very hard to categorize. On social isssues, civil liberties, and foreign policy, I'm prbably to the LEFT of Obama. On the economy and energy issues, however, I'm much more the blue-dog. Does that make any sense? P.S. Just because I criticize the president form time to time, that doesn't mean that I don't like him. I DO like him. And I DO respect him. I certainly want him to succeed. I just wish he'd listen more to guys like Evan Bayh and Ben Nelson than to Nancy Pelosi. Hopefully, he will in the future.
(feigned look of shock) You mean you dont tow the party line exactly the way people think you should???
Hell, Im to the left of Obama too on social issues and civil liberties ... he favors civil unions over gay marriage. My opinion -- the only time I will speak out against gay marriage is if they try to make them mandatory.
Totally agree on the gay marriage, man. Well stated. P.S. I Hope you don't get spammed with anonymous crap like I did. My advice, don't piss off the Clifmeister too much. 1) He's vile. 2) He's crazy. 3) He has an extremely long memory. And 4) He apparently has a lot of spare time, too. Proceed with caution, in other words. Peace.
MCH - thank you for these kind words!!
I am very honored. I can't wait to be allowed to finally post my real articles and writings.
